The Proclaimers at The Hotel Cafe - March 24 2009
THE PROCLAIMERS play a special acoustic evening at the HOTEL CAFE. Craig and Charlie Ried the Scottish songwriting duo better known as the Proclaimers have once again set out to take the music scene by storm as they are fresh from recording their new studio album 'Notes & Rhymes' in Wales during February/March. Following early success on the strength of their blend of pop and politics, the brothers Reid – Charlie and Craig– have reached the rarefied status that few have been able to achieve: with nearly three decades of career longevity, the band are as innovative as ever. With every album and show played, they’ve garnered new fans, all the while consistently replenishing one of the most precious resources in music – thoughtful pop albums. Now, they’re poised for another wave of North American success, with an impressive hat trick of an acoustic EP, a new album and an acoustic tour, their first of that kind in twenty years. You can check them out online at www.myspace.com/theproclaimers and www.proclaimers.co.uk. There will also be musical performance by Zachariah and the Lobos Riders (www.myspace.com/zachariahandthelobosriders). Doors open at 7pm with a $20 cover. The Hotel Café is one of my favorite LA venues and a great place to listen to music and enjoy food and drinks from their café style menu in a cool low key vibe setting. You can check out the Hotel Café online at www.hotelcafe.com. The Hotel café is located at 1623 ½ N. Cahuenga Blvd. just south of Hollywood Blvd.
