Natalia Fabia at the Corey Helford Gallery - Feb 21 2009

NATALIA FABIA presents her latest art series "HOOKER DREAMESCAPE" at the COREY HELFORD GALLERY.  Following her widely acclaimed 2008 exhibition, "Hooker Safari", Fabia's second solo show at the Corey Helford Gallery continues her tales of seduction by revealing the forbidden desires and secret fantasies of her modern-day belle de jours. Providing tongue-in-cheek “dream-escapes” with jewel-toned forests and candy-colored landscapes, the artist creates the ideal environment for her bold seductresses to indulge themselves in life’s little pleasures.  Fabia’s unique style evolves for “Hooker DreamEscape”, capturing a more heightened realism in this collection of oil-on-panel works, topped off, as always, by the artist’s signature glitter veneer.  Natalia Fabia is of Polish descent and was raised in Southern California where she graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.  Inspired by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, ornate interiors, wild animals, voyeurism, punk rock music, and sparkles, Fabia is fascinated with “hookers”, which fuels her paintings of sultry women.  You can see more of her work on www.nataliafabia.com.  The reception is 7 - 10pm and is FREE and open to the public.  The exhibit will run from February 21 to March 14, 2009 with the Gallery open Tuesday - Saturday from noon to 6pm.  The Corey Helford Gallery is located at 8522 Washington Blvd. in Culver City and online at www.coreyhelfordgallery.com.  There will also be an After Party for Natalia's Hooker DreamEscape at the Dragonfly Club (www.thedragonfly.com) at 6510 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood from 10:30pm til 2am Saturday Feb 21.
