Sirens vs. Tough Cookies at The Doll Factory - May 30 2009

L.A. DERBY DOLLS present the SIRENS VS. TOUGH COOKIES at the DOLL FACTORY. Skates. Skirts. Scars. The L.A. Derby Dolls are Los Angeles' original women's quad-skate roller derby league. Founded in October 2003 by Rebecca Ninburg (a.k.a. Demolicious) and Wendy Templeton (a.k.a. Thora Zeen), the L.A. Derby Dolls are a league of more than 120 women divided into Five teams who skate on a banked track. This weeks thrilling match-up pits the 2007 Champion SIRENS against the reigning Champion TOUGH COOKIES. The action on the track will get your adrenaline pumping and the action on our live music stage will get your feet moving as the Tulsa Skull Swingers (www.myspace.com/thetulsaskullswingers) perform at halftime. Following anthem singers such as Monique Powell (formerly of Save Ferris) and John Doe (of X www.xtheband.com) will be Abby Travis (www.myspace.com/abbytravis). No Derby Dolls event would be complete without the unique Vendor Village, featuring hand-crafted art, jewelry and clothes, food from Garage Pizza and Hot Dog on a Stick and glorious beer from Tecate and Alex’s Bar. As always your wrist band from the bout will get you into the after party at La Cita (www.lacitabar.com) located at 336 S. Hill Street in downtown LA for FREE. Doors open at 6pm with $17 general admission and $40 VIP tickets available HERE. You can get more information on the L.A. Derby Dolls at www.derbydolls.com/la. The Doll Factory is located at 1910 W. Temple Street in Los Angeles.
