ArtWalk 2009 + After Party at the Miracle Mile Art District - May 30 2009

ARTWALK 2009 + AFTER PARTY brings art, music and LA culture to the MIRACLE MILE ART DISTRICT. With the help of the LACMA, Page Museum, Petersen Automotive Museum, the Craft Folk and Art Museum, the Miracle Mile ArtWalk, and Yelp, four museums will be offering free general admission along with more than twenty galleries that will be participating in a FREE self-guided tour. Yelp has arranged food specials and discounts by restaurants throughout the area. Click HERE for a list of participating eateries. Along with the amazing art there will be special appearances by the Kogi Truck (www.kogibbq.com), Bollywood Step Dance, Angel Lebron (www.myspace.com/allmusicdelafunk), and much more. The ArtWalk will run from 12noon to 8pm with a map of participating locations available HERE. The After Party presented by LACMA MUSE kicks off with a special performance by Vaud and the Villians (www.myspace.com/vaudandthevillains) an eighteen-piece band with sexy, sultry dancers playing New Orleans-backroom-slow-drag-high-energy-boogie-woogie-barrelhouse blues at the El Rey Theater which will be transformed into a Prohibition-era speakeasy for a night of fantastic music and complimentary drinks provided by Grolsch, Malibu Family Wines, and Pernod. Doors to the After Party open at 8:30 pm with the Stagecoach Looters (www.myspace.com/captjeffsstagecoachlooters) opening the show with their blend of jazz and western swing at 9:30 pm. The After Party tickets are $25 for Muse Members and $40 for non-Muse Members available at the El Rey Box Office, LACMA Welcome Centers and online HERE. You can get more information on the Artwalk 2009 at www.lacma.org/support/Muse.aspx#AW+AP.
